PILATES

Pilates is a mind-body exercise system developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates. It is designed to stretch, strengthen, and balance the body. Classical Pilates is a whole body-conditioning program with focus on postural symmetry, breath control, abdominal strength, spine, pelvis and shoulder stabilization, muscular elasticity, and joint mobility. The whole body is trained, integrating the upper and lower extremities with the trunk. This provides improved balance, endurance, flexibility, strength and well being.

At Alexander studio, we offer full service Classical Pilates equipment classes and Mat classes, as well private and duet sessions. We take great care in understanding each Client’s specific needs and limitations. Modifications to the foundational Pilates exercises are made to accommodate all levels and needs in safely promoting healthy movement for our Clients.
