Heidi Alexander

Teacher and studio owner. Heidi is a certified Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis trainer, a licensed Massage and Ashiatsu Therapist, Craniosacral practitioner and Kunlun Nei Gung facilitator.

Working in the healing and movement arts since 1992. Heidi brings to her work and teaching a rich understanding of physical and energetic anatomy as well as a natural intuitive healing gift. Each session is tailored to the specific needs and goals of her clients. Heidi offers both private and semi private Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis lessons, as well as bodywork sessions and meditation instruction.

In 2005, I added Pilates to my weekly practice to treat my chronic neck and back pain. Daily medication was not the path for me. As my body shifted and I felt my core muscles taking the weight “off my shoulders”, I realized I was living pain free many more days than not. This was life changing and exciting. I became inspired to use my love of anatomy, physiology and fitness to help others overcome pain, and gain strength through healthy movement. I began my training in the classical style of Pilates in 2007, and received my full certification as a Pilates Instructor in 2008 from Gail Anderson, a second generation, superb classical teacher.

Today, I incorporate my ongoing rehabilitation training knowledge with my understanding of the human body, to guide all skill levels of Clients in small groups and private sessions. I assist pre and post orthopedic patients in finding their strength and recovering quickly. I enjoy helping Clients who are managing osteoporosis, arthritis, scoliosis, neuropathy, chronic pain and anybody wishing to improve their life through safe, therapeutic movement. I have loved living on Orcas Island for 25 years.

Lauren Weaver

Lauren holds a comprehensive certification through Orange Coast College & Long Beach Dance Conditioning, a contemporary and integrative approach to Joseph Pilates' original teachings. She is also a Certified Pilates Method Alliance instructor. She has continued her education through numerous trainings such as Power Pilates, Balanced Body and Tracey Mallet fitness blending the classical and contemporary styles. These combined methods enable her to provide well balanced, modern workouts for her students. She specializes in catering to each client's individual needs, and understands that no two bodies are the same; they all deserve special attention. Lauren is committed to helping her students achieve their ultimate health, and believes everyone deserves a high quality of life, good health, and happiness.
